An endless fascination

The textures, figuring and joy of wood…even when savagely, carelessly and prematurely felled and not even put to use or celebrated…made a fitting feature for the day. Sir Crispin Agnew KC alerted us to the recent death of forester and environmentalist Jean Balfour. Encountered in the 90s several time, she was formidable. She too left a mark.
