Coney Island

It was a lovely sunny day so we chose to go to Coney Island.  It was nearly 11.30 by the time we left the hotel. We were able to get a direct subway train there.  We bought a sandwich for lunch and sat on the beach to eat it.  We then decided to follow a walking tour of the Gowanus canal in Brooklyn but it was a bit tricky to follow and not easy to get from one side of the canal to the other. There was a big recycling centre nearby so went in to have a look to see if they had any old film cameras. We found an old 80s Ricoh compact camera for $5.99. We’ve no idea if it’ll work but we will get some batteries.  We then got on the subway to Brooklyn bridge to watch the sunset.  By this time, it was quite chilly.  We then went to Pedro’s for dinner (our favourite Brooklyn restaurant).
