Surveying the damage

We had another morning of snow, but not until I’d managed to go for my morning swim. It started as I was in the outdoor pool: a real pleasure to feel the snowflakes falling gently on my face. Less of a pleasure was the drive home.

It went on to snow heavily and build up quite a depth, but as it stopped and the temperatures rose, we actually had some lovely sunshine. Whatever is it doing ? We’re forecast an overnight freeze too !

In the sunshine I ventured out to survey damage. Some seriously flattened snowdrops and broken daffodils but, although the pots were still well covered with a depth of snow, little shoots were showing undeterred.

I’m optimistic about the Camassia when Spring finally does arrive…..
