The wonder of watercress

A delight for inconsistent tastebuds, these leaves have been in the fridge in cold water until the rest of my body has been ready.

The intense pepperiness always reminds me of wasabi, to which it may be related. Both are brassica's and grow in running water.

Victorians carried posies of it around as snack food. Lovely stuff!
