The cool cathedral

Spent a lovely morning with folks touring around Madrid. Paulo was off beating Nairn at squash so he missed out on the visit to the Templo, Opera, Palace then Cathedral. Once inside it was clear that there was a big event in progress - Confirmation Day.....lots of teenagers being confirmed and loads of Bishops complete with fancy dress!

Was great to get out of the heat of the mid-day sun and i found this Cathedral really quite impressive considering the luke warm write ups it has in many of the guide books.

After a quick tour we walked up towards Sol and found a lovely square complete with a Covent Garden style indoor market - Plaza San Miguel. We redevouz with Paulo here and headed off for a spot of Italian for lat lunch.

Got back to the flat - totally stuffed where all four us had a lovely siesta...two of which are still in progress!!!!

Tomorrow Mum and Dad go back in the avo.....was very nice having them and i think they have enjoyed it!
