Shadow Play

A beautifully bright frosty morning. This female or juvenile greenfinch was perched in a young oak by the lake. The play of shadows from its marcescent leaves can be seen on the bird.

I walked at Fishers Green and shot the little egret in extras. I was much closer to this than the great egret which I captured yesterday. Its yellow, Marigold-clad as Cheeryoscuro has it, feet look enormous.
