Round Plaza Opera, Madrid
We were turning the corner very near our hostal this morning when we were stopped in our tracks by bumping into two people from Barcelona that we know! Sarah and Xavi were as surprised as we were and had we been 30 seconds later, we wouldn’t have coincided! Hugs, chat and a promise to meet up soon in Barcelona.
After a wander and a bit of exploratory hat-replacement shopping for Bb (put on hold for the moment, after a call to an old traditional Barcelona hat shop), we stopped to have some Mexican tacos for lunch. Just before that though, we stepped into a teeny little shop opposite, owned by an English guy who’s lived here for 20 years, and I persuaded Bb to buy a new lightweight bubble jacket, greatly reduced and a real bargain and nice colour. I’m sure it’ll feature on blip.
More wandering and then some culture at the Thyssen Museum. We were a bit weary by then to be honest, but being able to see some amazing art by some of the greatest artists is always inspiring. We’re grateful that it’s so easy to do this.
A 5-min stop back at the hostal before being back on the streets again. And here’s Bb at the dinner table, ready for a few more nibbles.
