Late Life

We make friends all our lives and as our circumstances change so our friends change but sometimes, normally later in life, you can become friends with those you would have thought the least likely.
So it is with the guy in todays photo, Steve, I met him in 2015, my last job before retirement, we worked together for three years and became good friends.
Ex Coldstream Guards, extremely proud of his service and an all round nice guy. Once I retired we remained in touch and met for Veterans Breakfasts and other events.
Recently we started meeting on a Thursday when Steve finished work, at first for an hour maybe an hour and a half and chatted over a beer.
Recently the “a beer” has become half a dozen over a couple of hours. Great fun, good to be around and a good friend and the cause of a hangover or two.
