Banks Peninsular
We started our day with a buffet breakfast in the hotel next door. It turned out the Sri Lankan cricket team joined us. They left just about an hour before the test started and a quantity of pastries and muffins went with them...
After some retail theory we headed out onto the Banks Peninsula. We have been before when we did a Hector Dolphin watch cruise back in 2010. My extra today has some highlights from Akaroa including a bust of Frank Worsley the captain of The Endurance. He was born in Akaroa. His navigation skills saved Shackleton and the crew when they made the 800 mile journey in a 23' lifeboat to get assistance.
My main Blip is typical Kiwi. Little River boast of nothing of importance but it you're tempted to stop a while you can do it in these converted silos. I wonder if the cycles are to allow you to generate power?
Footnote: Whilst I tend to keep a lookout for Morris Minors (I saw 2 today) MrsS keeps an eye out for pukeko (swamphens). We're on about an equal count over the past 2 days.
