Reuse, Rejuvenate
Had a Saturday off work for a glorious change so decided on a whim to go to a workshop in the local Arts Centre based around reducing the clothing we send to landfill by reusing and repurposing it instead. It was run by a local girl who was on an early series of the Sewing Bee. A really fun morning was had looking at clothing for it’s fabric content and interesting features and this was what I created from a shirt and a pair of skinny jeans long past their best. My only annoyance is that the pockets were shaped for the bum of the jeans so look a bit squiffy on the straight bag (there’s one inside too).
In the evening my mum and I took Miss A and Mr E to see a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in a reasonably local theatre for their recent birthdays. It was absolutely brilliant - with some excellent young actors and an actual flying Chitty, we were suitably impressed and amazed.
Thoughts for the day: ’Me Time’ is so important. Even if you wake up feeling anxious at the thought of going somewhere there will be new people.
