A Trip Out

We couldn’t raise a team for today’s Orienteering in the North East. So we took the opportunity to have a trip to Knaresborough. We struck lucky with the weather and arrived about lunchtime. Surprised by how reasonable the car park charges were.

We started at the castle with this classic view of the viaduct. Then dropped onto the riverbank before wandering up the steep hill to the station. I was particularly taken by the painted windows, sculptures and quirky antique shops. Well worth a visit. I’ve added a couple of extras of the sights we enjoyed. Even had time for a refreshment stop and home to enjoy the second half of Scotland v Ireland in the rugby.
