The Thaw Begins!

Temperatures have risen to a positively balmy 12 degrees today resulting in a big thaw getting started. The amount of water is quite something! The huge drifts remain in place and those mounds created by the ploughs, but they won't hang around for that much longer.

I've spent the day in and around Ilkley which was a lovely change. A wonderful walk high above the town taking in the little hamlet of Middleton and offering views towards the Cow and Calf, and beyond. Again, a great change of stroll.

There was also time for a browse in the shops, no purchases made but a pleasure all the same. :-)
