Two in a bed

She’s a tough one that LadyV.

Despite a few hours on the sauce yesterday, her ladyship was up in reasonable time to make me a brew AND bring us both breakfast in bed as we caught up on our traditional Sunday morning TV that is Four in a Bed.

If you haven’t seen it, ‘Four in a Bed’ consists of four separate B&B/guest house/hotel owners who all spend a night at each other’s places, pretend to be friends and then slag each other off at the end of it. It’s surprisingly compelling viewing.

Once we’d dragged ourselves out of bed, we had a walk along the prom and visited The Old Pier Bookshop in Morecambe. If you’ve never been, it’s a reader’s dream and the view that greets you upon opening the door is shown above. It is quite literally wall to wall with second hand books of just about every kind you could possibly think of. I picked up a few and paid a little extra (the books were massively underpriced), which the owner said he would be donating to the local scout group. With that in mind, I also picked up a ‘Morecambe’ monikered tote bag to cart our swag home. There’s something about being surrounded by books that just makes me feel so very happy.

Resisting the urge to skip along the prom, we wandered back via Costa and sat on a bench for a while to enjoy the sight of the tide coming in. It’s so calming and peaceful and is just about the best way to start a Sunday. There is another way too, but that’s not for Blip…

We made our way back and I left a fading LadyV to take a nap (she didn’t) as I headed home to get some chores done and make sure that the house was ready for week ahead and the arrival of the wee ones tomorrow night.

It’s been yet another rather brilliant weekend.
