Short Eared Owl

Drove through the Skagit Valley wildlife reserve area early this morning to check out the large eagle nest hoping to get some good pictures. One eagle was in the nest sitting on some eggs while the other was making trips bringing back branches for some nest building. In another field there were a couple hawks battling it out over some territory and several short eared owls out hunting. They are always amazing to watch and the weather was great but, soon the rain and wind moved in.
