B.A.C.K. to Basics

It started with a trip to the Home Depot for materials to rebuild the steps into the living room. But once we returned home, we realized the steps would need to align with the height of our kitchen/dining room floors (not yet installed). So, change of plans, as I wanted to remove the half wall that divided the hallway and Kitchen. Unsure if the wall/beam was load bearing we painstakingly demolished the wall piece by piece. I was thrilled when BJ realized the beam was not load bearing and could come out.

We still have a bit to go until completion as the floors are next. But for a weekend project, this was HUGE! I’m so happy with the open space and cannot wait for flooring!

Side note: I couldn’t have done ANY of this without my incredibly talented and resourceful hubby. I am a lucky girl.
