Record

Someone has been busy clearing undergrowth in the graveyard.  A number of gravestones and memorials that have been inaccessible and or covered up for as long as I’ve been visiting can now be viewed. This sad record of short lives among them. 

Memorials like this always make me reflect on those of Dad’s siblings that died in infancy and that he never knew. I think conditions improved when they moved from their off-grid, damp cottage in the woods to a new build council house in the village. 

Otherwise, a quiet day at home with the kids, with 18yo catching the train back to uni in the afternoon.
