Another groggy day indoors

Wet again day - I've only been out to read the thermometer and fill up the bird seed thingy. Oh of course, and to take a Blip!

Now I'm sure you're wondering what this piece of wood is! It looks like a rolling pin, but it's not flat and is about 2ft long. I noticed it on the table of a man I knew at a craft fair in Duror last year and asked about it.

It's not just a lovely piece of grainy wood, beautifully turned, but it's from a branch of Embothrium coccineum, the Chilean Firebush, one of my favourite trees - see https://www.burncoose.co.uk/site/plants.cfm?pl_id=5323

What do I intend to do with it? Nothing really, just admire it and pick it up and enjoy the beautiful grain!
