On the Water

Nearly blown away standing on the lakeside I tried to wait for the drop in gusts to take a shot but with water halfway up my wellies it was all a bit chancy. Visions floated in my head of slipping in the treacherous conditions as there had been a good deal of rain down overnight and water levels  had risen dramatically. I did chicken out of treading where I could see the path used to be, now underwater, as there was nothing to hold on to. It's not often I can be sensible but today discretion was the better part of valour.
