The Three Graces
I have had a very productive day .
9 am went to see a friend from u3a who’s returning to America today aged 78 with her 90 year old husband to be nearer to family. I thought she’d be here a few more weeks but had to catch her quick.
Then walked back up Bridge Street and on a whim called into the forge to speak to Steve the blacksmith who is also our Community First Responder about a talk for u3a which was agreed :)

12 drove to Leamington Spa to meet a friend for lunch. She’s thinking of moving there, from a village outside and I don’t know it at all , so we had a great catch up whilst walking the parks and managed to avoid the rain.
She told me about the elephants: commemorated in statues at various points round the town. The history goes back to 1850 when a local man brought 3 elephants back from then Ceylon and kept them in town bringing them down to the river to bathe.
However due to their trumpeting disturbing church worshippers, in 1882 they had to move out of town!
This statue is called The Three Graces and are in Livery Street. Not my photo as we rushed past!
Home by 5:30 and feet up!
