New lift

Our building is getting a new lift as the old one has lovely wooden doors which are a fire hazard. Not such a good day to be on the 5th floor.. I only had to walk up once.
Most government employees were on strike today to protest at lunchtime. I went through the city late in the day and the streets were littered with leaflets, some broken glass from bus stop shelter advertising and overturned rubbish bins.
I taught my friend’s son and she drove me home. It should’ve only taken an hour but there were unexpected protests in the city that evening. I successfully worked out a detour - overall trip - 1 hour! I’d started my class on Zoom from the car and joined them a little later from home.
