What's going on here?

This police car driven by a pleasant young woman sat outside our house with lights flashing for about 2 hours. A cable had come adrift on one of the poles further along our road Her job was to warn passing traffic to go slow. She was pretty fed up, saying it would have been better to close the road completely!

Maybe our neighbours will think Jack and I have been arrested!
