Day of contrasts
Didn’t sleep very well last night. The caravan was wind and watertight and didn’t move but Phin decided to join me and took up so much room I kept getting cramp or pushed to the edge of the bed.
However woke to brilliant sunshine and gorgeous blue skies. After a quick walk to the edge of the village and back, we had breakfast and headed into Richmond. We walked along the river to the station (very very muddy) and then followed the old railway line to Easby Abbey. Phin enjoyed being off the lead and luckily didn’t try to get into the river as the water was very fast flowing.
Came back the sane route and stopped at the brewery for a quick pit stop. A nice beer for Mr PHL and a swaledake gin for me - local and delicious. Walked over the river and up the hill to the market place. Lovely pate lunch in the Castle Tacern before a quick look in the charity shops and a downhill walk back to the car.
Back at the caravan Mr PHL and Phin both napped and I made some squares. The snow started coming down about 5 and was a couple of inches deep after an hour. Phin and I had a quick walk round the neighbouring field, he does love the snow, and I made a non traditional version of kedgeree for dinner.
I’ve caught up on blip and heading fit bed, hoping the snow is gone tomorrow but will have to wait and see.
There are a couple of wee niggles with the van so we’re calling into the dealership on our way up to Scotland in the morning.
Quick blip of the cushion on the front seat of the van got todays ‘textiles’ theme. Thanks to cathy1947 for hosting.
