Going back to Johannesburg

We packed up this morning and headed back to Johannesburg at a leisurely pace, enjoying the many fields of sunflowers, maize, apple orchards and cosmos, which still needs about two weeks to bloom fully but is still wonderful to see in their natural state. Dave did a detour to the town he grew up in, Reitz,  to show me his family home; very much altered since he lived there over 50 years ago, but still a thriving and surprisingly tidy town.  Many small country towns are 'messy' with shanty towns springing up on the outskirts, wherever there is space.
