Precariously perched

There are a number of ponds in the gardens around the village and the Herons are quite fond of the fish they find in some of them! I have occasionally seen herons perching on the conifer next-door but never wen I had a camera nearby and often only fleetingly. Well this morning this one decided to stay a while. Long enough for me to take some shots with sis's camera downstairs and long enough for me to belt upstairs for my camera.
