One of Wordsworth's yews
A trip to Grasmere on a wet Sunday afternoon! This is one of eight yew trees in the graveyard where Wordsworth and several of his relations are buried. A lovely place, full of birdsong and with lots of daffodils in evidence, unsurprisingly.
Unfortunately Dove Cottage was closed, but we did have a walk around the interesting old slate buildings. All the shapes and angles of them and their roofs.
Also found a shop selling local Herdwick sheep's fleece for needle felting! A lovely memento of our visit.
