March winds
Dazzling golds and blues at Etton-Maxey earlier this week, a wild March wind causing the reeds to dance and sway in time to their own melodious susurration. And over the sounds of the reed, the evocative call of Lapwings, establishing territories on the shallowly flooded grass, away from the wave-tossed open water where Black-headed Gulls rocked rhythmically.
