Tarabuco Market
On Sunday morning we went to Tarabuco market, a few hours drive away from Sucre. It used to be a small countryside market specializing in local embroidery and cloth making, with amazing local patterns being traded. Although more touristy now, it still had some amazing fabrics and more amazing local people actually walking around wearing them. Men in huge stripey ponchos and women wearing these ridiculously cool hats, with actual pom poms on top!! I spent more of the time people watching rather than market shopping! We spent the afternoon sitting on a sunny balcony overlooking Sucre's main square before our bus back to La Paz. Excitingly we got the front row of seats above the driver, however excitement turned to terror when we realised it meant we could see all of the drivers risky overtakes around blind corners - argh!
