Flinders Island

Flinders Island is north east north of Tasmania, in Bass Strait. It is named after Matthew Flinders (Royal Navy) who visited the island in 1798 and subsequently completed the first circumnavigation of Tasmania, proving it is not part of the Australian mainland. We spent much of the day ashore.
