ed: Cormorant

Or more commonly know as a Darter or Snake Bird.  Certainly not an expected sight in a London Park - Italian Garden in Kensington Gardens.  We spent a pleasant morning wandering around the parks and gardens not far from Paddington.  The strike meant that we couldn't travel very far; the Elizabeth Line was operating, but we wanted a quiet morning.  

In the afternoon, we travelled on the Elizabeth Line to Tottenham Court Road - discovered a wonderful bookshop called Pordes, wherein I spent a lot of money, before going to see the Great British Bakeoff- the Musical.

Don't be fooled by the photo in extras - we were there early to escape the rain - the theatre was packed out and the cast got a standing ovation at the end.

I shall draw a veil over our attempts to get back to Paddington after the show - suffice to say it was a very wet, very long walk back to base.
