Buddha at Hemis Shukpachan
We had a long drive to a Valley called Mangue where a snow leopard had been spotted this morning. On the return journey I took this photo of the huge statue of Buddha at Hemis Shukpachan.
When we arrived at the viewing spot there were at least 3 big groups lined up (one in extra and the snow leopard in second extra) as many were going home tomorrow and hadn’t had a sighting at all! I felt very honoured to have been given our three day opportunity to watch snow leopards mating at relatively close quarters! After lunch we continued further into the valley and only saw a few bouquetin, the males are clearly very different in colour to our European ones but the females are the same. They were too far away to get decent shots.
