Grey Heron
The rain held off so a longer walk by the river today. Managed to see the usual ducks/geese as well as a dipper, grey wagtail, tree-creeper and this guy. He was conveniently perched on the bank right opposite a bench and still as stone. I sat and watched him for a while and got this shot just after he slipped into the river by accident and scrambled back onto the bank. The wet feathers looked a lot better than they did before.
He must have been embarrassed as he flew off a little later; although I did run into him about 20 minutes later a quarter mile further up the river. He wandered in the other direction then, must have recognised me. Bet he thought I was storking him ;)
