Friends

I’ve known Chris since we were eleven years old and have been close friends ever since - 57 years and counting. We were best man for each other at our weddings and Chris has been married to Pat for nearly 39 years and I’ve been married to Fiona for 35 years (in just over a week’s time). We’ve both ended up in our different career paths in the North east and Chris is retiring from the NHS tomorrow as a specialist physician. 
We had a fabulous lunch together at the historic Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland. Afterwards Chris and Pat were intrigued by the fireplace which as you can see is big enough to get in to. We had a lot of fun here. The young lady is our daughter Ali. 
Today was a very special day.
The addition is a snap during our post lunch walk beside the river Derwent. I sense this river will have its way with this wall in the fullness of time.
