Rubbish

When I arrived at the coffee machine first thing this morning, I looked out the window and saw a woodpecker feasting from the bird feeder. 

As you will see, getting a decent shot of it was beyond me. In fact, getting any kind of shot was a wee miracle. Past experience is that they notice the slightest movement from me, so just sneaking away to get the camera is likely to spook them. 

Several species turn up to feed, and some ground feeders appear to hoover up the crumbs, but the woodpeckers are a rare event. 

It was a nice way to start the morning. 

It rained all day so I did not do anything interesting. In any event tomorrow and Saturday will be quite busy.
