Rescued

The heavy rain last weekend took its toll on the church garden so, when we arrived for the service on Sunday I was saddened to see so many daffodils bent over.

When I saw a single bud had completely broken off I took pity on it, brought it inside, nipped off a bit of the stem and plonked it in a glass of water by the reception desk.

This is that bud tonight, blooming in all its glory; I had to take its photo and show everyone what a happy daffodil it is.
