Netherby Homestead

The house that Samuel Fagan built in, what is now called, Fagan Park. This sort of house is very Australian except most of them are not built with bricks. Samuel made his own on the property which explains why most of the paths are also brick.

Samuel's dad, William Fagan came over to Australia from Ireland in 1848, a free settler. Samuel bought a bit of land, planted a few fruit trees and became one of the biggest citrus producers in the state of NSW.

In 1980, Samuel's youngest son, Bruce gave the land and property to the people of New South Wales. It's now a wonderful area of open parkland where families picnic, play or just walk their dogs.
