Standing Tall

I've had a refreshing walk in the sunshine, catching up with friend Helen today.  It's been a while since we took the path to the Bronte Waterfalls and we enjoyed the long views and the light on the moor and across the valley.  Our outward walk was through the village of Stanbury and towards Top Withens, then we dropped down across the fields to the beck and packhorse bridge before returning along the valley to the car at Penistone.

I took several photos but I'm always struck by these moorland trees which manage to survive at height against the worst of the weather, so chose this one for my blip.

Back in Haworth we parked up and walked slowly up the cobbles window shopping to use up time before our lunchtime booking at Cobbles & Clay.  We browsed awhile in the Abrahams Gallery which has some smashing artworks of local scenes, sadly out of my pocket so I made do with a couple of greetings cards.

We thought we would see if our table was ready and then spotted friend Jo and two of her friends outside the cafe, enjoying cuppas in the sunshine.  The friends turned out to know Helen, small world stuff.  Much talk of running and orienteering followed before we headed indoors for a tasty lunch.

Back home I opened both doors downstairs to freshen the house after days if not weeks of being battened down, and cleaned our running shoes ahead of the orienteering on Sunday.
