At the foot of our tree
Our back garden now contains two trees. When we moved in it contained 5, but 3 have been removed. They were cypresses, and since they were suppressing these 2, just a nuisance. One of the trees is a silver birch; the other is this "mighty Scots pine", as Michael Palin once described them. Looking at it from the bottom I was struck by the pattern of the branches as they sprout from the trunk.
Loving the new camera - seem to have barely scratched the surface of its capabilities but the freedom of fast power-up and response is great. Beginning to feel at home with the interface now too: quite different from the Nikon, which was good in its way, but this one is great. A huge amount of functionality seems to be just one button away.
More friends round today - had another BBQ enjoying the Aussie-esque weather. It surely won't last.
