Large Border
I spent some time this morning sowing some grass seed in some of the bare patches in the garden. It is a cold germination one and supposed to be bird resistance; we shall see.
I also took out some of the plants in the small pond, which was very overgrown and put them in the large pond at the bottom of the orchard.
Today’s picture, taken this morning in the rain, shows one of our larger borders, which, as well as other areas, the gardener worked on yesterday. I now need to fill it with some ground cover plants and more shrubs to replace those lost during the recent, very heavy frosts. I think more lavenders would be a good idea as the deer leave them alone.
The temperature at noon today was eleven degrees Celsius.
