Catkins...

Another mostly damp day, which is not helpful on the gardening front!  So instead I caught up on the housework, had a sort out of my wardrobe and now enjoying an afternoon of reading - The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O'Farrell - and also had a surprise visit from friends with their very bouncy retriever called Mac!

The twisted hazel in the garden is looking lovely with the catkins and I'm pleased my haphazard pruning attempts last year hasn't harmed the plant too much!

We've also got some Magpies nesting in a neighbours conifer hedge so it's been fun watching them fly backwards and forwards with sticks and branches!   Fingers crossed their nest building is successful!
