Dendrobium

Today did not work out as we had hoped.  We drove into Kendal with the intention of visiting the Alpine Flower Show that Knottman had advertised on his blip.  At the roundabout outside the venue the traffic was jammed up but after a few minutes queueing we reached the gates and drove into the school.  The reason for the jam soon became clear as there was no room at all in the designated car park or indeed anywhere else on or even near the premises so cars were turning and obstructing the entrance/exit.  We had no idea that this was such a big event but what a shame there wasn't more parking available at or near the venue.  In the end we gave up and returned home which was disappointing as we had been looking forward to the event.

The 'silver lining' was that 5 minutes after we arrived home a delivery van rolled up with a beautiful Dendrobium Orchid for Linda from one of our daughters.  As one of the many blooms had detached in transit it made a suitable subject for my blip.
