Airborne

We were just beneath the runway when we heard the roar of the engines so we waited to watch the plane head off. We watched it fly into the distance but knowing this was the plane bound for Tenerife we couldn’t understand why it was heading in completely the wrong direction. I know they have to fly in a certain direction according to the wind direction but we never saw it turn left as we expected it to. I even checked afterwards to make sure it was the plane we thought it was. There are only four flights a day, two to North Tenerife and two to Gran Canaria.
