At the chocolate shop. 

Out to buy an actual new book first thing; Waterstones on Princes St has an enormous stock and very few staff. Took much longer than it would have done to buy the ebook version, but the intent is a gift for a teenager. Stopped at Hotel Chocolat for their 85% dark hot chocolate. 

Longer walk later around by Inverleith. Dogs playing, almost sunny. 3 swans in residence. Back through the New Town .. lots of rugby fans. 

Concert by Apollo's Cabinet at St Andrew & St George in the evening. A young group; excellent musicians, too much acting from the soprano. They are due to visit Orkney in the next few days; wondering about the logistics of getting a 2.3m theorbo there. The varied recorders, a guitar, a viola da gamba, and a wooden flute are much more portable. Full house.
