New running shoes
This is the one and only time that the soles of these shoes will be in contact with our precious sitting room rug. I tested my new ASICS Gel Kayano 28s this morning with a 5K run round the cycle paths.
We had planned to take Mummy hazelh out this afternoon, but she wasn't feeling up to it. Instead Mr hazelh and I set off on our own in the car on a trip that took us to the other side of the by-pass. We dropped off donations at the Sue Ryder shop at Seafield, made a few purchases at Dobbies (including lavender for the new planter), and returned via Newhailes. We had hoped to see nadinepierce at the Newhailes market, but had not realised that this only ran until 2pm. Nevertheless, we enjoyed tea/coffee and traybakes in the café there.
Jon is back from his travels in South Africa (hurrah!) This evening he came over for a Crombies sausages supper. He brought éclairs and cheese - yum. Inevitably we brought out the Catan. Jon won the first game and Mr hazelh the second. During the second, not a single 11 was thrown. This was very annoying for me because my first two settlements were on the two 11s. I triumphed at Exploding kittens, however, so that even-upped the final score of the night.
Exercise today: 5k run; walking (12,294 steps including run).
