Timeless

The Great Clock was installed on Marshall Field’s State Street Store on November 26, 1897. Marshall Field envisioned his great clock as a beacon that could be seen for miles and attract crowds to his store which he saw as a meeting place. Norman Rockwell immortalized this famous clock when he drew a picture of it for the cover of the Saturday Evening Post on November 3, 1945. Although the store has changed, the clock will stay a Chicago icon.
