Lilac Time!

In the 1950’s Louis Armstrong sang “Jeannine I dream of Lilac Time” . Mom loved the song invented her own spelling and named her first born, me, Genine! I always remember this when I see Lilacs and finally I planted one in our front yard a couple of years ago. The bush is budding and today I noticed the first blossom opening. Yay! The only sad thing about spending spring in Italy is that I miss the burst of blossoms in my own garden. The lilac bloom hearkens the joy of spring.
