Now for something completely different...

I don't wear a lot of jewellery but I really wanted to try something new and work with metals, so I went on a day's course at the Creative Cowshed in Kentmere to make a silver spinner ring (also called fidget or meditation rings).  It was good fun, if nerve-wracking, hammering the copper, brass and silver pieces into ring shapes, annealing (heating the metal until it reaches a dull glow), soldering the gap, and accurately measuring the inner ring that is made to fit into the outer one.  Only now do I appreciate that I have my mother's ugly arthritic knuckles, so I won't show you the finished piece, but I am quite proud of it!
