Reflective Mallard
Thanks to RedFlash, my daughter and I were able to stay in a cottage within striking distance of Inverness where the funeral was to be. Before we left we had an enjoyable swim and steam to relax us and this shot was taken on the Lochan at the resort. Our friend had tragically and fatally slipped on rocks on the beach on the Isle of Lewis and while the occasion was incredibly sad it did, like most funerals, bring together a number of folk who had lost touch with each other. Following the service we had to gather ourselves for the long journey home and were happily greeted by Bruce and Cara.
Along with everything else that was going on the past few days my daughter had only just landed on Sunday when she received a text from her husband to say that their youngest boy was needing to stay in hospital as he was having breathing difficulties. .... And he still had the other two to look after. So thanks to mobile phones and numerous texts from the north of Scotland, the Mum's network down south had risen to the occasion to help out.
