Phalaenopsis Aphrodite

I am sitting next to it as close as you can see it in the shot.

Last year, during a leavetaking dinner late June with 5 (now ex-)colleagues, they gave me this gift, plus the novel Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes, which I finished reading while we were on holiday in Mongolia. Not having any green thumb at all, I seriously wondered if the orchids would flourish. About 6 weeks ago, the buds started to grow and now I have five enormous phalaenopsia - one for each of the five colleagues who were at the dinner. Now who would have guessed that? Thanks J, G, M, S and L! I miss working with you guys!
