Return of the Manspade

Abandoning J to finish off the fiddlier parts of the basement ceiling to go and dig holes.  

The "glade' area of the garden has been something of a 'to do' since we got here 8 years ago.  On the other hand it's been invaluable as a dumping ground / messy area / bonfire site.

There's another are in the garden that neds digging over and the soil (and root density) is such that hiring the digger made sense even for that  - thus it was an opportunity to have a go at the glade.

Main aim here is to smooth off the central area, and bank up the edges.

Sounds easy, doesn't it.

There's a lot more earth here than you might think.  Still, I've made a, um, mud crater.
