Spring flowers

These flowers were on a medium size tree, I wonder if it is a Magnolia type, they were very attractive.
Monty Don would be proud of my achievements- scoured the lawn of moss, filled three compost bags, then followed on with spiking holes (to help drainage). Took two sessions so I had a good work-out.
